April Goals 2019: March Recap
With just a few days left in March it is time to start working on your April goals 2019. Read to see how March went and my new April goals.
It’s the end of March. Say what?!?! Do you get the feeling that time just keeps going faster and faster? The good thing is that I got to make more goals. Yes baby! Watch out April goals 2019, here I come.
Are you making monthly goals with me? I just love how my monthly goals are helping me to accomplish things. It is helping me to stay focused (which can be hard with having ADD). I don’t feel like a chicken with my head cut off running around trying to do 427 things at once.
Now I’m a chicken running around trying to do 18 things. Haha! Such a difference. A big difference that is helping me, my family, and my home.
Let’s take a quick look at my March goals and how I did.
Personal Goals
- Playroom
- Fill Out Daily Food Tracker
- Start Reading a Book With Eddy
- Continue Filling Out Be Happy Daily Tracker
Playroom
I am in love with this room. We still have a few things to finish up buuutttt it’s totally functional and the kids like playing down there. I have to be honest; I thought they would play more down there. I am going to give it time.
I bet when my office is all set up downstairs the kids will want to be down there by me. Hopefully! Here’s a link to my playroom post reveal. It’s a fun one.
Fill Out Daily Food Tracker
You guys, I’m happy to say that I am still filling my daily food tracker out! Woohoo! I miss some food or a day here or there. I will take that for a WIN!
I have found that if I check off the boxes right away then I usually eat better and stay on top of tracking. It’s hard when we are gone a lot during the day and I have to back track what I ate. I am doing much better than I thought. So that’s awesome! I am going to keep tracking my daily food intake. Head here if you want a copy of the food tracker I created and use.
Start Reading a Book with Eddy
Ok, here’s where I get to be really honest… I did not start this one. I’m talking, I didn’t even crack open the book! Ahh! Let me tell you why I am totally okay with this. Because normally this would have bugged me and made me mad and/or depressed.
Eddy and I are working on something. It’s totally new, as in we just started this month. It’s completely different from everything we have done before. We are very excited! And that’s all you get! Haha!
We put more effort into this new thing and we didn’t have time to start a book. I know we need to read the book, so I hope that we will make time in the short future.
Continue Filling Out Be Happy Daily Tracker
I am happy to report that I am still filling out my Be Happy daily tracker. I haven’t been as consistent, but I still do it most days. That is better than stopping after one month. I hope to continue to fill out my Be Happy Tracker (you can grab yours here) or something similar most days.
This is a great way to reflect on your day, have a mini journal, keep track of important things (migraines for example), and get things off your chest. Are you going to join me? It’s fun! 🙂
And now let’s get to my April Goals 2019!
April Goals 2019
Personal Goals
I am going to focus on 3 personal goals this month. I have a lot going on and want to make sure I am being realistic when making goals. Here’s a goal making tip… If you make too many goals you may flop big time or feel like a failure to not getting to everything to name a few. So do yourself a favor and make fewer goals.
- Kid’s Bedrooms
- Morning Routine
- Healthier Snacks
Kid’s Bedrooms
I know I mentioned that we might get to work in the garage this month. However, we felt if we worked on the kid’s bedrooms then we could also make sure we are finishing the playroom. Let me explain. 🙂
We still have some toys in the kid’s bedrooms. There are toys for quiet time, special toys, and Legos. Most of the toys my son loves to play with are in his room so there isn’t as much of a pull to get him playing down there. We hope to fix this by getting more toys out of their rooms and into the playroom.
We also need to get our baby out of the pack-n-play and into the crib. In order to do this we need to switch some beds around and purchase new beds, probably bunk beds. The kiddos were going to stay in their same rooms but we may be switching rooms and who shares with whom.
There are two kid bedrooms and 4 kids. So there will be 2 kids in each room. Someday our son will need his own room, but for now he is okay to share with one of the girls.
Our plan for the kid’s bedrooms is simple. We need to take everything out, clean everything, figure out who is sleeping where and what beds we need to buy, get at least one new dresser, sort through everything and then put everything back in the rooms in a more organized way.
Basically not that much… Haha! We had two days back to back to work on this but some plans changed and we will have next Tuesday and Friday when everyone will be home from work and school.
They are going to be busy days. Here’s hoping we can keep going and get both rooms completed.
Morning Routine
I don’t know about you but I am not a morning person. I love my sleep! Mornings have proven to be a grumpy time for me, sorry family! I want to change this. Mornings need to be different around my house.
For this goal I am going to focus on my morning routine. Maybe next month we can work on our family’s morning routine.
There are a few things I would love to start my morning with. And I am hoping that they will help me to be more positive and happy. There are a few ideas rolling around in my head. I would like to do some research and reading to see what others are doing and being successful with.
When I know what I want to do and have started then I will share my morning routine with you. If this is a goal you want to work on as well I suggest you do the same thing.
- Think of what you would like to do
- Research to see what is helpful for starting your mornings off right
- Put a plan into place
- Just get started! Set that alarm clock a few minutes earlier and get it done.
Healthier Snacks
Let me hear you shout if you love food! If you could hear me I would have given the biggest shout! Haha! I kind of like food…. nope, that’s a lie. I really love food. I like to eat it, smell it, and look at it. I’m sounding a little weird…
I have my go to snack foods; I’m talking to you apple and peanut butter or cheese or whatever junk food we have around the house. Even if I have awesome cut up veggies and humus ready in the fridge I find myself reaching for something else. Hence, my goal of finding healthier snacks.
Sometimes cut up veggies do not do it for me. I need something with substance. Like the banana muffin smothered in butter I just ate. Yummy!
My plan is to find a few healthy snacks that I can make in bulk. Then when I am hungry I can grab something healthier (and hopefully packed with protein) then candy or crackers.
Work Goals
Ug! I didn’t do too well with my work goals. So I am going to focus on some of the same ones and hope I have more motivation in April then I did in March with my work goals.
- Finish WordPress course and fix things on my site
- Check emails consistently
- Be more meaningful with Instagram stories and post
Well guys, that sums up my April 2019 goals. I truly wish you the best this month as you crush your goals! And please reach out to me if you have questions, need a boost, or want to share your goals. I really would love to hear.
If you have reached out and I left you hanging…check out my work goal number 2. I’m horrible at checking my work email. So as soon as this post ifs done. That’s what I am going to do.
Happy goal setting and crushing your April goals 2019!!
