April 2020 Goals

April 2020 Goals With a Tip: March Recap

It is a new month so I get to share what my April 2020 goals are and TIP to help you with your April 2020 goals. Are you ready?

Welp, what a strange month March was! Who agrees with me?? Tell me in the comments how you are surviving! I need to keep things consistent in my life so I’m going to go ahead and share my April 2020 goals.

But before I do, let’s recap on March. First, March as a whole….

  • Corona virus caused major shut downs with so many things… Schools, places of work, TP can’t be found anywhere…
  • In Utah we had an 5.7 magnitude earthquake. It was CRAZY!!
  • We started homeschooling. I have loved it. But, I know that more many families it put a lot of strain on them.

I really feel that in times of turmoil and strangeness we really need to band together, work hard, try to stay positive, be consistent (at least for me), be kinder, and remember those feelings so we can continue them when life starts to get back to “normal”.

Onto my goals…

March 2020 Goals Recap

  • Budget with Eddy
  • Laundry Room
  • Baby Book

Budget With Eddy

This is a year long goal. So I will continue to work on it. We were able to make some good goals for our budget, with a bigger end of the month savings planned. Then, you know, life happened… We spend more money on food storage and emergency preparedness.

We are 100% okay with this. We will have less savings but in the meantime of uncertainty we have more resources to keep us healthy and safe.

Laundry Room

On the Saturday morning I reminded Eddy that we were going to do the laundry room he said, “Didn’t you do that last year?” Yes, we did my love. And we are going to do it again. Only this time you are all going to help.

They were all helping until our glass cleaner bottle got knocked down and broke. I cleaned that up while Eddy continued to deep clean the laundry room. One more room done and crossed off the list! It was nice to get more unneeded junk out of there.

Baby Books

I actually pulled out my son’s baby book! I didn’t get a lot done but I did get it out and give it a start. Better than nothing, I say.

Now, let’s take a look at April 2020 goals. 🙂

Budget With Eddy

So this month we really and truly are going to do better with saving the money we plan to save when we did our April budget at the beginning of the month. We thought of all the extra things that we might need to do or pay for in April.

Taking it a month at a time and seeing what expenses might come up it awesome. Instead of saying we will only spend XXX amount of dollars on extras we take a month at a time. In April we don’t have much extra expect a few days stay in Park City. We will plan to have XXX amount of dollars for this mini trip.

With our tax return we are planning on saving it all and when we have enough to pay off our van we will do it. Here’s hoping for just another few months of saving!!

Bedrooms

This month’s decluttering challenge is our bedrooms. Since we did a major deep clean last year we won’t have to do as much. Also, last month I had had enough of the toys all around the house! So we took pretty much every toy in the playroom. It has been NICE!

This also helped to have less to go through in the kids bedrooms. We will be able to spend a few hours one day to deep clean and go through the rest of the bedrooms.

Work Goals

  • Posts Written – I am trying to get as prepared for when baby girl comes in about 6 weeks. That means writing extra posts now so I can have more time to snuggle that sweet girl!
  • Pinterest – Pinterest is a work in progress as I learn more about it. Check out my Pinterest page here.
  • Learning – I have many blogging courses that I have that are just ready for me to learn from. 🙂 That and a lot to learn as I continue my blogging journey.

Tip of The Month

I want to make these goal posts more meaningful for me and YOU! I hope it is encouraging to read about my goals and how I did on the previous month’s goal.

But, I think, the real help to you is being consistent with posting my goals and giving you tips. In the past my tips were:

So for April 2020 goals tip of the month I want you to find a partner to be an accountability partner. If you have someone that you will have to answer to and vise versa you will be more willing to work on your goal.

Some ideas are:

  • spouse or partner
  • parent
  • sibling
  • neighbor
  • friend
  • social media friend
  • find a Facebook group along these lines
  • child

Share your goals with each other, your plan, and your deadline or goal date. Then you both have to check in with each other to see how things are going. When the deadline or goal date has arrived you MUST check in with your partner to see how they did. And hopefully your partner will check in with you as well.

Good luck with your April 2020 goals! I hope you are able to come up with some good ones and make them happen. Or at least get a start on them. Happy Goal Making!!

Xxx, Steph

  1. It’s great to hear that you are still making great forward progress with goals in these crazy times! With work events cancelled left and right for the next 3 months, I am a bit at loose ends right now so trying to reorganize my whole schedule/priority list around that.

  2. We have set a to-do list for ourselves to get jobs done that we haven’t had time to do in the past. This COVID-19 crisis has given us some extra time so we plan on using it wisely!

  3. Great job on your goals! I love the feeling of decluttering the house… especially right now it is such a great thing to do. Good luck with getting ready for baby!

  4. Goals are helpful to have for sure! Be sure to not work too hard in these last weeks before baby comes. 😉 Congratulations!
As for how the whole Covid thing has affected us, it really hasn’t all that much , yet. We are Organic dairy farmers and there are dairies being forced to shut down left and right, especially now, so we’re hoping and praying that ours won’t be next!

  5. Great job on keeping up with the goals! We have had some challenges, but I work from home anyway, so that was not a major issue. Keep up the good work.

  6. Great job on sticking with your goals! I am starting my golf blog during this time. I’m also reading some self-development books and crocheting. I also have a past history of mental illness. When I have anxiety in these times, I slow down and ask myself what I need. Sometimes it’s sunshine, or devotionals, or music. Thanks for sharing!

  7. My brother lives in Utah too and he quickly texted all of us in Hawaii about it! Crazy!!!

Many people see covid19 a horrible thing but I see it as an opportunity to get things done that I haven’t been able to because I am so busy! Yes, for me too, lots of goal planning, and looking forward. With goals to focus on, every day is exciting and with so many opportunities, even if we are stuck at home. 😉

  8. Great job getting your goals pretty much done in March. It was such a strange month and I know it threw off a lot of people, myself included. I probably spent two weeks in March trying to figure out what to do and sorting out homeschooling to tie us over until the boy’s school got online classes set up. We also spent extra during the month on groceries and stocking up because of what was happening because there is so much uncertainty, so I’m hoping April will be more of a normal month spending wise or even less spending since so much is closed and outside of gas for hubbies truck, since he is still working, and fresh produce we shouldn’t need to buy much at all.

    1. I agree, March was weird! I was hopeful about spending less on groceries for April but so far we’ll probably spend what we normally do, hope it’s not too much more. Has homeschool been working out??
